Chuck & Clint

I had enough of my old Fender. I was looking for a different sound and a different shape for my electro strolls. I was quite sure to go for an Epiphone, they suggested me a Rickenbacker, I bought a dark, metallic, über-kawaii back Gertsh.

I suddently tought of a name for my couple of new acoustic and electric friends, so it's Clint (for the Acoustic) and Chuck (for the Gertgh)

Do you think I'll miss Miss Squiry. No-way!

Magic Mushrooms

You have to know that Manuel used to play in an Indie Cover Band during the 90s. They were called Magic Mushrooms, and they had their f*cking moments during those glorious brit-poppy days.

This year was really generous on bringing us back what we had thrown at our back on that music era. Magic Mushroom couldn't be less caring on coming back to life for the love of their fan.

So here it is, you can see some pictures of that event and some video as well :)

Bravo Manuel & Mr. Nice :D

A New Generation

Friday I had the pleausure to play with Mic, our new drummer. Gee it was a pleausure. We're both deep in love with the Beatles, and he learned each of the songs we're gonna play really really quickly.

During the next month we're gonna rehearsal with Mic and Andrea, our new keyboard player. He's very entusiastic about the project, and I think we're gonna make a real good team. Go!Tiny!Go!

By the way! I was quit e forgetting that today our Violin Player Manuel has pullet his socks up for a mevellous performance with his former indie cover band reunion called Magic Mushroom. We hope to see this band hanging out for more gigs in the town.

That's all for now. Take your xmas away :)

Dissimulé

I am a F*ckin H/ssole! I reached the studio after 20 minutes by car, I arrived on the top of the hill, I waited till everything was checked ok, I started recording feeling and controlling my voice like never before. Then something happened. The score... faded! And it left me in the middle of the song!!! I suddently realized that I brought with me THE WRONG VERSION OF THE TRACKS!!!! NO!!!

Pop

For all the people crazy enough to still have the curiosity to hear me playing a solo gig with just an acoustic guitar, recorded at the same fidelity of a fart via air-dryed, well... here it is!

NOW is the time

Scaletta:
1. February/The Killing Moon
2. A Song For EMI
3. Heaven (dall'EP del 2002)
4. Kitty Jesus / Yoshimi Battles Against The Pink Robot Pt.1

5. Girls From Ronta / Help me Ronta

I momenti piu' topici?

I Les Fauves sempre piu' bravi!

Here's a new demo. It's in Italian... for a side project.... It deals with alien-love-businness. But nobody knows it. Enjoy

Tiny Songs

Today I started addin guitars on "Girlfriend" and "Go Ego Go" drums we had recorded at Capannone Studio. They are two covers by Belanova and Lacrosse, and they will appear on our first EP. Here's a little chop x x

Check also my new composition. It's called "Dreamland", and it will hopefully appear on my side italian project m'Ar(o along with 3 new songs.

Take care kids

Go Ego Drums

[ Pictures Here]

Today we've been on a hill. The Fulls on the hill, I'd say. First "The Ronta EP" session. We started with drums at "Capannone Records". Francesco Minotti was the man, and was in charge of setting up sounds, mics and taking care of the recording. He was great! Of course Joe The Drummer too!

We started in the cold f*cking morning with "Girlfriend". There's not a soul non Sorrivoli (actually the name of the little town on the hill), and playing on that location, with cheap wood covering the walls of the studio, made me think at the band as if we were on the "A Kind Of Magic" documentary with Tiny Tides instead of Queen. Strange, isn't it? I mean... I've got no mustaches!

Porlock knew any name of the nearby towns by having had a dinner on a restourant on each of them. So we had no problem having a break from the sessions after having recorded drums for "Grilfriend" and finding a place for our little lunch.

Tagliatelle al ragù, ravioli alle melanzane... and a lot of red red wine!

Francesco wasn't too much surprised by finding another band having their way back to the studio more than half an hour late. As so it was that the next track was a winy blast.

Are you a tiny fan? Guess which was the next recorded track...

Mark Zonda & The Rontettes

A Grande Richiesta...

Mark e Porlock @ Glamorama

Winter in Bologna

ROCCHENRO'!

Here Be Demons, UK, will be in charge of all our artworks for EP CD. I hope. I mean... as soon we will be conquer the World we will force her to sign a contract! XD

Red Face Tacing Gigs

Nel frattempo, have a nice weekend :)

Beaglewool

Foto: Qui.
Official Bootleg: Qua.

Alura.

Porlock... vestiti rock!". Ma ormai e' il suo look ufficiale. Scrocchiamo a Holmes batteria e tastiera. Provo a suonare senza occhiali. Cosi'. All'improvviso.

Non so.

Quoto:

Forza Mark!

Let me quote the words of Carlos, Internet Friend and Fan Coordinator for Belanova Fan CLub:

"Hello. Well... I have a surprise for you! In a famous Mexican Radio station ("Exa FM") in the show "Top Ten" Belanova is number one in Latin America. But the host of the show said that a Italian band called "Tiny Tide" made a cover from Belanova an said your myspace link. I can't believe it. It was a surprise for me too!!! "

Questi ultimi particolarmente enconiabili.

Once Upon A Band Ago

While it's fun knowing by friends that "Girls From Ronta" keep on going through the radio (Thanks, namaste) Tiny Tide are back in a studio for some rehearsals at least. After getting lost trying to reach this new location in the dark and warm night of the countryside (literally "feeling lost in Country Churchyards"), Porlock and me finally manage to find A CAR (id est civilization) to stop and ask for a way. We look closely: it's Manuel. He got lost too!

We finally managed the studio with a little help from some midnight biker, sort-of a rural family with children at their back with their mini-bikes, proclaiming that they didn't knew any Music Studio, but they knew a place where there was a lot of noise and played songs every night. That was!

Mark, Porlock, Manuel and Joe back together. Uncertain if we're playing for girls, karma, money or just to have fun. Joe's new motto is:"BELANOOOVAAAAAAA!!!!", shouted out loud before the start of "Girlfriend", that - I must confess - kick asses.

We gave a try to "Tiny Trains" too, and it went out quite fine, thanks also to our past-practice at Mansarda Studio from me and Porlock.

Freighting moment of the night: while discussing about rights with the others I suddenly listen to the sound of a hammond-like keyboard playing a tune from the nearby studio-room. There's no doubt. It's "Tiny Train". I got blue in the face. It was Porlock checking out the instruments of our dear neighbour!

E' stato divertente su(o)nare in spiaggia con i Clever Square. Abbiamo improvvisato un piccolo show sand-made strimpellando canzoni dei Clever, dei Tiny... e degli Apples in Stereo! (i ragazzi conoscono molte canzoni del repertorio).

Aspettatore involontario il chitarrista de Three in one Gentleman Suite, che durante la serata ci hanno servito uno show al fulmicotone. Finalmente una giornata d'estate!

The Blogger's Hot Sun

How can you do all the things that you do" neanche venisse from Bar-ce-lo-na...

Girlfriend - English Lyrics

That's my English version of the song Niño by Belanova:

Girlfriend
is time to say goodbye
life sent me so far
from here
I can feel
the same pain
in distant tears

It’s love, it’s longing to behold
That love that just can’t be hold
It’s love the place we can’t belong
To dust on an empty road

Can’t send
the warmth of my embrace
time was meant to erase
Any trace
of mistakes
and the pain
in distant tears

It’s love, it’s longing to behold
That love that just can’t be hold
It’s love the place we can’t belong
To dust on an empty road

It’s tiwst of fate
yet not a fairy tail
There are no words
left over to be read
back to the shelf
I needed to be placed

Can’t help myself

So Long

The Federalists - Stay Gone
Thorn Hill - Believe
Slow Burning Car - King Con
The Fades - Kalishnakov

Thanks L.A.! :D

Halleluja Girlfriend!

And now some news from Mexico!

The other good news is that the one-man-band "Stars in Coma" was so kind to step on the editing of the song (or giving it a try, at least) and rec a second voice on the song. Dosen't that sound great?

Summer 2007

Ecco cosi' la nostra "Country Girl From Mars".

Beware: we're the next in line.

Paul Rock

As you fan know for sure, I decided to have 14 tracks on our album called "February".
As track number 13 will be called "Goodbye Lennon", I tought that the ideal opening for the LP would have been a short intro called "Paul Rock", closing with a bright Mi+ right before fading and sliding to Porlock "Midlakean" piano intro on "February" in Mi-

That's my first attempt to go for a demo. What do you think?

Beach-Volley Fields Forever

Quite few years ago, when I was a couple, one morning I woke up, I turned the keyboard on, and played the choir of a song to the fashinating girl, still underneath the blankets. I just woke up with that score on my mind, as if I had listened to that melody on a radio for hours. Notes where still buzzin' on my brain.

"Nice. What's that?", she asked me
"I just wrote it. It's by Lenny Kravitz"

Telling the truth I'm now coninced that the melody is all mine, but for quite a period I wasn't sure if the melody of the choir was really mine or not. I guess that I just probably imagined dear Lenny singing in a dream.

I kept on playing that melody again and again in years each time I had a piano to play on. Anywhere. Don't know why. I guess they I was just very pleased to move my fingers on the keyboard on that chords.

So it happend that the chours began to have parts and grow up as a proper song, in a direction more close to Costello than Lenny.

Still the melody hadn't words... till today! The inspiration of the song come from my disappoinmente seing beach-volley fields replacing free areas on the seaside. It was so that the name "Beach-Volley Field Forever" blazed on my mind like a giant flash.

The song is divided in two parts. In the first one we're facing the delusion of finding the place we used to love ruin and changed, while in the second the same sad feeling is referred to a bad love affair.

I'm not sure about this comment and its grammar, since I'm quite tired and drunk and ate a lot (and it's only 03.40 in the afternoon), but I'll leave you anyway with this first demo along with lyrics...

"beach-volley fields forever - rough demo 01"

"It's funny you know

It's changing my soul
once over

we're closer
Still messed by the flight
No time for goodbyes
come over
we're closer
The sun in the sky
will shine in your eyes
as strand will warm your hands
a rain of glint and grain

But the place that I knew
has changed as well
as I can't believe

that sight it's true

Down on my knees

Here I'm begging you please
bring me back what is due
for I feel myself screwed
All I can see
Fucking beac-volley fields
and the place where I grew
now got ruined by youth

It's funny no more
you cheated my soul
it's over
my lover
still messed by the fight
it's time for goodbyes
move out there
I told her

The sun in the sky
Will shine out of sight
as hold will loose my hands
and rain will wash her blaim

But the girl that I knew
was changed as well
and I can't retrieve
the faith once so pure

Down on my knees..."

The band who loved beer

Don't know why. Me having practiced "Psychopath" daily two weeks long; a decent microphone; having brought a good amp to the studio; having acoustic Dean guitar on "February"; the skillful talent of Prol, Manuel and Joe, with his good music direction; but everything find his easy sweet way during our last rehearsal gig, even the never practiced "Go Ego Go" went out quite surprising.

Wait... There's another element to consider: the Officina Studio provided us... BEER!

MA GRANDISSIMA! :D :D :D

Allora.

Nuova ondata, nuova moda, nouvelle vogue.

Comunque "fiordico" e rassicurante :D

Kitty Jesus

A friend of mine from Black*Kitten Record, recently told me that she would bet anything to a single with "Girls From Ronta" / "Kitty Jesus". You may ask: what's "Kitty Jesus"? "Kitty J" is a demo I made for an album that never saw the light called "Prego", on which I tried to work on 2006/2007

Somewhere between "What is the light" and "Give Peace a Chance", someone has told me that this song could definelty open the way to Indie-Gospel. The crazy lyrics are dealying with some kind of mystique marathon summoning this miracle cat to help the runner out. The name "Kitty Jesus" is for sure inspired by "The Andy Milonakis Show"-

Since we Tidy already agreed for having "TPATC" a "A-Side" for our first single, what do you think about "Kitty J" for one of our 2 B-Sides?Here's the lyrics:

"Looking for a miracle
I felt so out of place
You opened up the stadium gates
and put me in this grace
Your boots were made for walking, man
on a sea already drained
So wait for me, hang over
I'll keep alive the flame

Won't you help me Kitty Jesus
I'm losing all my faith
Won't you show me Kitty Jesus
Your trace along the way

Spookie and so effable
I tought that you were done
You just pop-out again instead,
you freaked mysealf to death
Bringin back the mices,
to stab them once again
Multiplying fishes,
you're not supposed to share

Won't you help me Kitty Jesus
I'm losing all my faith
Won't you show me Kitty Jesus
Your trace along the way

So gimme gimme gimme
a sign you're coming there
Gimme gimme gimme
a way beneath the rain
Gimme gimme gimme
a light to light the place
Gimme Gimme Gimme
The fire to burn the race

Won't you help me Kitty Jesus
I'm losing all my faith
Won't you show me Kitty Jesus
Your trace along the way

Now. Na-na-na-now.
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-now."

Go Head NOW!

Not falling in love with some bands is just impossible. So it came with a sweden one called "LaCrosse" (can't see why but we're gettin attention from all non English speaking bands in the world, from Norway to Argentina, you can easely wonder why).

Their avatar has a pig and donkey puppet one in front of the other, and then it happened I asked them if they were kissing or fighting. The brilliant reply was:"They do are kissing! But, you know, sometimes love can turn into fight and so the opposite". It was love (maybe also because the name of the singer is Nina)

The band asked us to do a cover of one of their tracks, as they will do the same. I choosed "Go Ego Go", and you can see here the results after a cloudy sunday spent at home recording it. I changed some chords and added some extra lines. The aim was to try to came out with a new sound totally different from the one of the band, so I found myself with this electro-samba-pop trying to melt Cornelius, Beck, Pet Shop Boys and Holly Johnson in the same pot! Guess I still got work to do...

Revolution#2 {Lyrics}

You say "live your life in peace
hold it tight, let them be
You now love and understanding will come easy waiting still
Sun will rise once agai
what you gain in being mad
is a treasure with no jewels when you already sold the map
there's no use in being found
once you lose your way out
running helpless undercover could endanger the whole crowd"

But motor bike can't help it if
you don't burn gasoline

It's not a solution
to live an illusion
it's my revolution#2
It's not too officious
to break your position
it's my revolution
#2

Standing in the rain
will not bring you anyway
let's kick out the traffic jam
before it gets too late
(do something good for you)

Twisting with our faith
it's not fairy anyway
Shaking down to big bros bull
Should burst the class to laugh
(New teacher's rules: be schooled)

How many times will you stay back
sitting down like a pet to get some slacks
swing your tail when they play bells
while it's life on the line and it calls for self respect

It's not a solution
to live and illusion
it's my revolution#2
It's not to officious
to break your position
it's my revolution#2

You say: "live your life in peace
hold it tight, let them be"

you know out there's smoothing more
than the room that you adore
grab that chair and hit the sky
won't take much to realize
I'd say leave that life a piece
of my revolution #2

24 May 2007

Revolution#2

The point is that we have:
a) Revolution (The Single)
b) Revolution #1
c) Revolution #9

... so why non trying to filling the gaps and wonder what's the point in having a revolution 40 years after a band called LesBeat started it all. You know. When you're young every single thing is a new discovery, even when we're dealing with concepts as old as humanity is. So it happened that in my youngster era I came into a Franco Battiato tv that really impressed me. Franco Battiato is an Italian artist more close to a philosopher than a songwriter. He had his point in the interview saying that he didn't believe in violent mass revolutions, because our memory is very poor and history is a never ending repetition of human mistakes. He concluded saying that the only true revolution that can redeem humanity is a inner change in the behaviour and consciousness of us all. That's why a song is more powerful than your guns. But have you ever tried to stop bullets with a guitar? Maybe only Pantera knows...

Ginger Genie {Lyrics}

She's some kind of evil sent to Earth to bring you pain
No wonder she's offensive 'cause you drove her out of grace
Her mind somewhere up in the clouds through thunderbolts and flames
she's lighting up a cigarette while cats and dogs sweat rain
Don't worry 'bout the picture
can't you see that you got framed
She's with another devil you can stay or go to hell

Isn't
a bit meany
Ginger Genie
She knows how to play
Beat Dizzy
Ginger Genie
Won't stop or delay
Isn't
hot Steamy
Ginger Genie
She wants you to play
Beat Freakie
Ginger Genie
It's hard to obey

Wish number one: you're so divine, dance with me until the end of time
Wish two: I wish you would turn me on before you got me blue
Hold back that number three. Yes' I'm coming to town and you gotta be free

But you don't even listen nor pretend of being there
While you need her sweet assistance she's forgetting all your spells
There is no magic word my dear to bring her back to shells
She's sparkling all her freckles while she smiles away from friends
Don't worry about the silence and the smell of what remains
It's cinnamon and sulphur from that girl you sent to hell.

Isn't
a bit meany...

Gentlemen take polaroids

Since yesterday rehearsals there are few things that we didn't had before:
1) A reggae bridge on "The Psychopath At The Club"
2) International Groupies

Manuel has shown us what a skilful bass player he is too.
That bass guitar is so f*cking steam-punk men.

Ginger Genie

Of course it all started as a mock of Jean Genie, but musically heading for the most Elvish Paul McCartney meeting Nancy Sinatra. Naturally it ended in something more similar to Aerosmith and Dead Cab For Cutie than else (as not planned).

Lyrics are dealing with a nasty cutie red haired girl doing nothing but rebelling to all of your wishes. Some say that she's actually the red girl portrayed on the temporary cover of our forthcoming album. Nice girl, isn't she?

Girls From Ronta {Lyrics}

How can you do all the things that you do
Feeling lost in country church-yards?
How can you say all the things that you say
You must be a girl from Ronta

Spending all my money
buying music for My Honey
we will sing awaiting sunrise
Spending all my time
giving shape to my desire
from a picture in a postcard
You must be a girl from Ronta

How can you do all the things that you do
With your sneakers on your shoulders
How can you say all the things that you say
You must be a girl from Ronta
How can you do all the things that you do
When your lift is out of order
How can you say all the things that you say
You must be a girl from Ronta

Always landing safe on your feet
Always landing safe on your feet
Always landing safe on your feet
Keep on falling

Girls from Ronta

Another task was to compose an appealing indie song. That's when I pushed myself gathering my concentration trying to build up the most stupid silly tune of ever: "Girls from Ronta". I mean... it all started with "I'm from Barcelona", then the world of unsigned music was all filled up with "Men from Argentina", "Trains to Brazil", "Postcards from Italy" and whatever an exotic souvenir could bring in your mind. So I thought: "we had -Girls from Mars-, we had -Country Girl-... why not a -Girl from Ronta-?"

I started to thing about tunes and words for the chorus every moment of those days, tuning in some kind of brain-station of mine bringing to mind what would suite a coca-cola spot and a tape English language lesson for beginners too. So I came out with that silly "How do you do... all the things that you do...", fitting the melody in a perfect way. Moreover it was all so catchy that I didn't even had the urge to write it down or record it because it was so worm-hearing that it was impossible to get it out of my head! That-fucking-worked!

Since I hate stupid things I tried to fill the rest of the songs with indie hints and quotes and battles of words on this icon of Country Girl trying to fit in the cool world of the trendy urban youth without a point, unconscious that her real appeal is brought by her belonging to a genuine and honest tiny world.

Tiny Trains {Lyrics}

Canone#1:

Let's take a train and let's go
Just pick a track and let flow
Parallel lines
Beating the time
as long there's steel in your eyes

Canone#2:

Trees go by on ceramic floors
See the station near the close door
Locomotive put aside
heedless daddy doesn’t mind
we'll never reach the station

Chours#1:

Have you ever wondered
'bout animals?
Standing still on plastic hills
they wouldn't move
they cannot tell nor talk
Seems like they forgot the words
when they realized
that noting worth the toils.
Freedom just a state of mind
takes away
your logic for a ride

Chours#2

Have you ever wondered
'bout artefacts
standing by beside the clock
they wouldn't cry
they cannot tell nor talk
seems like men forbade them words
when they realized
they only would annoy
Freedom just a state of mind
running wild
on tiny trains to ride
